Puzzle of the Day – Flags Over the Capitol

In honor of the midterm elections that took place in the U.S. earlier this week, today’s jigsaw puzzle of the day has a patriotic theme. Flags Over the Capitol, by Thomas Kinkade, is a 750 piece puzzle, showing a shimmering vision of the United States Capitol Building, decked out with dozens of American flags.

Thomas Kinkade, rightly known as the “Painter of Light,” has a distinct style defined by soft shapes and warm, glowing light. The brilliant blues in the sky and stream mix well with the vibrant green in the hills and trees. Flowers nearly burst out of the scene.

Puzzle of the Day – Friends on Halloween

With Halloween just around the corner, this week’s jigsaw puzzle of the day is the aptly titled Friends on Halloween. Autumn colors, spooky decorations, and trick-or-treaters are all themes invoked, sure to get you in the mood for the upcoming holiday. Artist Charley Harper created the artwork displayed on today’s puzzle of the day. Harper, who was known for his style of “minimal realism” style, was inspired mainly by nature, which is featured prominently in Harper, The Rocky Mountains jigsaw puzzle.

Check out the intricate ecosystem portrayed: A beaver, who has happily obtained a piece of Ash wood, headed home, perhaps, to build a dam?
