Working at the Puzzle Warehouse, we see literally thousands of puzzles every day, and are often asked for suggestions by customers here in the store. So, we have compiled a list of current staff favorites to inspire your next puzzling experience or gift…

Dave (our does-just-about-everything guy):

1. Escher: Relativity (1000pc): “Very challenging! I was happy to get eight pieces a night for 3 months, but when it was together it was beautiful! Very rewarding to finish.”
2. Yerka Land – Check-Mate (750pc): “This puzzle is by far one of my favorites. The irony of seahorses playing chess along with the fish clock…I LOVE IT. It is beautiful on our wall.”
3. Paris Romance (1000pc): “I love the color contrast with the black and white photo. I always thought this is the perfect valentine puzzle.”

Elizabeth (our newsletter and web guru):

“First is the Farm Cube Puzzle from Melissa & Doug. It’s great! You can use it to make puzzles, stack the blocks, count the blocks and sort the different colors. Isaac (my son) got it when he was 2 and it was a bit over his head. It’s perfect for him now that he’s 3. Love it!

I also love the See-Inside-Alphabet Peg Puzzle from Melissa & Doug too. It’s easy for little fingers to grasp the pegs and manipulate.”

Ann (one of our most veteran retail masters):

“My pick would be Songbirds. My husband and I are bird watchers so I thought this puzzle would be fun and it was. Challenging but not too difficult and good quality with vibrant colors! Beautiful image… very realistic.”

Bonus: 750-piece Songbirds is part of Buffalo Game’s panoramic series… it measures OVER 3 FEET WIDE after it is put together!

Faith (our payroll gal):

“Here’s one I plan on getting for my daughter’s first birthday - Large Farm Jumbo Knob. It has very nice big knobs for her to hold and very big pieces that she should be able to do soon.”

Melissa and Doug puzzles are leaders in educational and fun products for kid’s first puzzles!

Ashley (social media and website fixer-upper):

“I collect clowns and circus memorabilia, so the Misty Clown series was a perfect fit for me. I’m still finishing Red Nose, but Tent and Carousel are now mounted and decorating me room! The one thing that makes these puzzles a challenge, though, is that the brand Heye has ribbon-cut pieces, which makes it even harder to find exactly where the piece goes.”

Brenda (our buyer of awesome puzzles):

“I like everything from the name to the beautiful image. It is an image of a women with her head bowed in silent prayer. I think it looks peaceful.”

Time Well Spent is a 500-piece puzzle by artist
Henry Lee Battle.

Susan (Owner of Puzzle Warehouse):

“I like Pomegranate Kids puzzles. This Pool Cat is the first one I used at our summer Tennis Camp and the kids loved it. They are great quality puzzles with colors and images that pop out and seem to come alive when the puzzle is finished. The 300 piece count and larger format piece size were a perfect for the kids… but don’t let that fool you, they are great puzzles for adults too!”

One of our biggest and most popular collections from a particular artist are puzzles with images from Lori Schory. Her love of nature and collage-style artwork makes for a great puzzling experience, and these puzzles just fly off the shelf! She also have five brand new images you should be sure to check out below!

Lori was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1956, to parents who were also artists and studies at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Between a father who was an industrial designer, and a mother who was more of a portraitist, Lori was exposed to a diverse spectrum in the art world. It was clear at an early early age that she would pursue an art-related carrier. In 1981, she received her Master’s degree in Drawing and Painting, with honors, from Northern Illinois University. Lori has mastered the ancient craft of hand-painted signs, lettering on glass, and mural painting. She traveled the southern states doing murals for Carlson Restaurants Worldwide. Sometimes these commercial influences can even be seen in her fine art. She has a keen sense of composition, color and design.

Ocean Wonders

Her artwork has been licensed for puzzles from SunsOut, White Mountain, Ravensburger and Elms, as well as a variety of journal covers, photo albums, screen savers and more. Lori’s art is distinctive and eye-catching with its vivid colors and thematic elements. She posts this beautiful quote on her website, which she says she does every day through her artwork:

“There’ll come a time in life

When Dinosaurs Ruled

When there is nothing left to do
But go your own way
A time to follow your dreams
A time to finally stand up for your own beliefs.

Some things will always be stronger
Than time and distance
Deeper than language and ways
Like following your dreams

Traffic jams did not exist, and there were less rules and, of course, less cars. Environmental issues were just starting to make surface, there was enough fuel for everybody and car makers and customers didn’t worry about fuel consumption. In these golden days, you needed some serious mechanic skills if you wanted to drive your car around the country. There were no companies to call in the middle of the night if your car broke down on an unknown country road.

The cars that you used to see during those days are now considered antiques. But these classic cars will always remain in our memory, not only for their beautiful design and sometimes outrageous performances, but also for the way of life and decades they stood for.

Puzzle Warehouse brings you, classic cars amateur, Classic cars Jigsaw Puzzles. Among the many puzzles that fit into the category, you will be pleased to learn about the Classic Corvette Mosaic, a large Corvette made out of thousands of tiny Corvette photographs. And if you don’t like the Corvette, there’s nothing better than a classic Mustang, like the one in the Classics-Top Prize jigsaw puzzle.

And that’s not everything Puzzle Warehouse has to offer to those who love classic cars. A lot more beautiful jigsaw puzzles depicting classic cars and scenes featuring classic cars are waiting to be discovered at the online store, for some, of course, classic prices.

Where do you work? Is this the place where you imagined yourself to be when you were just a kid? What kind of car do you drive? Is it a firetruck? Is it a police car? Do you save lives? If the answer to any of these questions is affirmative, you might be among the lucky ones. Those that are living their childhood dreams.

For most of us, on the other hand, those childhood dreams are nothing but mere dreams. And it’s probably just the way they should be. When you’re a child, your vision of the world usually skips the bad things and only retains the beautiful, the dreamy, the positive and the amazing. There’s no bureaucracy, no real danger, no economic crisis, no sadness in a childhood dream, because a childhood dream is a fairytale.

Puzzle Warehouse invites you to become a child again with the small Childhood Dreams jigsaw puzzle series. The pictures are signed by Dan Halala, an artist who managed to draw some very expressive pictures. Each of them has 1000 pieces and a very generous finished size of 19.25″ x 26.75″.

There’s the Firehouse, the Whistlestop, the Policeman and the Barnyard, in which you will find most of your childhood heroes, vehicles and dreams. An ideal world waits for you to be discovered again in every box, but we should warn you. In order to assemble the puzzle and get the best of it, you need a child’s vision. So either get your children involved with you or go back in time, even if it’s only for a couple of hours, and try to see the world through a child’s gaze, once again.

Although the station seems like a crowded, dusty and agitated place, it is also a place where many stories are born and reunite: love stories, family stories, and friend stories. It is amazing how that heavy metal machine on wheels, which also looks a bit scary, has an essential role in people lives, some of them depending on it to get to their jobs.

Artist Susan Brabeau did a great job by taking us back in time with “At the Station,” to a day when we used to travel by train along with our grandparents and pets.

We’re sure that this jigsaw puzzle will allow you to take a break from your busy daily schedule to assemble its 500 pieces and even cause at least a couple of smiles. If you have the patience and time to assemble this 16 X 16 inches jigsaw puzzle, you will see that in the center of the image, there’s a little white dog making sure the luggage of the lady smoking a cigarette gets wet.

Lots of other funny and interesting things can happen at a train station, but we won’t tell you anything else. We’d rather let you discover the story all by yourself at Puzzle Warehouse, the largest puzzle store in the US.

And it’s perfectly normal, since little children have so much to learn, and there are so many ways of doing that.

Some of the cutest and most interesting educational puzzles you will find are the sound jigsaw puzzles from Melissa and Doug. These will speak to your child, tell him when he’s right and help him learn lots of things about world we’re all living in. There are numbers, zoo animals, vehicles, pets, musical instruments and there is also the alphabet. For every one of the puzzles, once the child figures out where a piece goes, he will hear the corresponding sound coming from the toy. He will be able to associate sounds and objects, and will be pleasantly rewarded for doing so.

The alphabet jigsaw puzzle, for example, is a wonderful tool that can help the child learn to read in an entertaining and challenging way. When a letter is placed correctly on the puzzle board, the puzzle will pronounce the name of the letter. Underneath each piece, there are colorful pictures to help with the process, and the pieces are slightly raised. That makes their grasping and handling easier.

These jigsaw puzzles are, of course, made out of wood, and they are durable and virtually unbreakable. Children can safely handle the pieces, and you don’t have to worry about a thing. Visit Puzzle Warehouse, the largest jigsaw puzzle store in the world, and choose your favorite educational puzzle. You will find quality products at more than reasonable prices.

Do you think you will become one someday? If so, or if you want to learn more about the beer culture, today’s jigsaw puzzle of the day might just be the right thing for you. Made by Piatnik, with a finished size of 26.5″ x 17.4″, it has as many as 1000 pieces, so you’d better get some six packs ready so sample while you’re assembling it. It will not only make the puzzling more fun, but you will also be able to taste and enjoy some of the different beers featured in the image at the same time you’re assembling their bottles.

Needless to say, a beer bottle stands for more than just beer. It stands for a recipe, sometimes even for a history, but also for a unique taste, flavour and colour. A Leffe is nothing like a Carlsberg and a Carlsberg is nothing like a Stella Artois. And don’t even try to compare those two to a Corona or worse, a Guinness. You might be accused of sacrilege by some.

The different beer bottles in this puzzle have different styles, different histories, and a sociological imagination would ascribe them different social communities. There are certainly Guinness drinkers that distinguish themselves from Carlsberg drinkers, and Corona drinkers that have nothing in common with the first two.

Puzzle Warehouse, the largest jigsaw puzzle store in the world, supports your quest for knowledge and your passions by offering you this beer puzzle at an attractive price. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn new things about beer types and beer bottles. You might even find it useful one day, when you’ll be able to impress your friends by recognizing different brands of beer only by looking at the bottles.

Do you have a favorite team? Do you wear your team’s colors all day long? Do you like to share your passion with others? Well, if you do, then you will certainly like the football jigsaw puzzles that you can find at Puzzle Warehouse.

Football is one of the toughest sports in the world, although you will probably hear that same line from various other sports practitioners. Even though the players are protected, unlike their cousins the rugby players, they are still under a tremendous amount of pressure and they put their health and bodies on the line with every game. If you don’t think that’s right and you’re wondering how it’s like to be on a football field, just imagine a 250 pounds athlete running full speed towards you, with a helmet on. Do you think he will stop? Do you think you can stop him? It’s like trying to stop a freight train. And if a freight train hits you, well, you’re in for an ambulance ride.
Football players hit each other full speed every day. And yet, with hundreds of hours of training and a strict life regimen, they manage to survive the hardness of the game, even if some of them pay the price when they get old.

If you like the game and respect the players, the football jigsaw puzzles are the right thing for you. And don’t worry; there are many football themed images to choose from. Starting at 150 pieces and going up to 2000 pieces, there’s certainly a jigsaw puzzle that you will enjoy and take home to assemble during the game tonight.

But he did something much better: he painted. And he did a great job, as he is considered today one of the world’s greatest painters. The Dutch painter’s work has been categorized as post-impressionism by the critics, but the thing that matters the most, in Van Gogh’s case, is not the glory his work has known after his death, but the tragedy that lead to it.

If one tried to describe his life in only one phrase, that phrase would be: Glory is the sun of the dead. Nothing is less true in Van Gogh’s case. He had a miserable life and suffered from anxiety, with frequent episodes of mental illness. And if that hadn’t been enough, he died young, at 37.

Still, his paintings are true works of art. And, just like any other work of art, they are extremely rare and expensive. Fortunately, Puzzle Warehouse has a solution for all of the Vincent Van Gogh lovers who can’t afford an original painting: Van Gogh jigsaw puzzles. These reproductions look nearly as good as the original and require you to put some work into their assembling.

You won’t undergo the whole process of creation, just like Van Gogh, but you’ll get at least a part of the feeling painters get when they see a newly born world taking shape under their eyes with every brushstroke. Every piece you put in its right place will bring you closer to the painting and to Van Gogh’s world.

Though it is titled, “Woman with a Parasol, Spain,” it is much more than that. The name suggests a woman, a sunny day and an exotic, beautiful landscape. But the truth is that once you look at it, you’ll realize that the scene is actually taken from an idealistic, dreamy love story. One that you will have to narrate yourself, according to your own feelings and desires.

A beautiful silhouette, a white dress, a parasol and a hat make the intriguing main character, looking back through her dark sunglasses on a past she is ready to forget. You can see footsteps ahead of her in the sand and, right where they stop, an old luxury car and another silhouette waiting in a dark colored suit.

Could it be her lover? Or could it be something deeper and much more complicated? What does she think about as she approaches? What is she leaving behind? Why the pleasant sadness that you can identify in her eyes, half-hidden behind those protective sunglasses?

If you really want to find out, you’ll have to visit Puzzle Warehouse and get this amazing jigsaw puzzle of the day by Educa. With each one of its 1000 pieces, you’ll get closer to completing this beautiful story and solving the mystery behind the white dress, the dark suit and the gold sand. With a finished size of 26.75″ x 18.75″, this jigsaw puzzle looks so great you will have to frame it and put it on your wall, just like you would do with a painting.

Rosie the Riveter is an American cultural icon, and stands for all the American women who worked in factories during World War II. She represents especially those women who helped produce munitions and war supplies, those who supported the war effort with their bare hands and their sweat.

The first famous picture of Rosie the Riveter is authored by J. Howard Miller, an artist from Pittsburgh who cleverly used the slogan, “We can do it,” in order to gather support for the war. As iconic as it became, the poster should not be praised too much if you like peace and hate useless violence.

World War II, despite the propaganda made in each and every one of the countries involved, was still a war, and a very devastating one. No matter what posters like these say, it wasn’t a just war, and we can hardly even associate those two terms. There was a Rosie the Riveter in most of the countries involved in the war, and she should be remembered, indeed. But not as an exemplary individual who loves her country. She should be kept in mind as a reminder of the greatest war there ever was and probably also as a useful learning tool for those studying propaganda and political communication.

Such an event shouldn’t happen again and it is a disaster that we, unlike Rosie, can prevent. You can find a Rosie the Riveter puzzle at Puzzle Warehouse, featuring 1000 pieces and a finished size of 26.5 x 19.25 inches. Let the slogan motivate you in your effort to assemble the jigsaw puzzle: If Rosie could, you can do it as well.

Materials are the greatest divide there is when it comes to jigsaw puzzles, an epic battle between wood and cardboard. If we take a closer look at the statistics, we will probably find out that the divide does not only have a technical nature, but also a sociological one, and that puzzle lovers can be divided among these same lines.

If we look at it from a historical perspective, wood is the older, more traditional material. If wooden puzzles are handmade, it becomes even more “traditional,” and the craftsmanship adds more value. Cardboard puzzles are modern, manufactured by thousands, designed and cut with the latest technologies. They are products of modernity.

From an ecological perspective, things change a little bit. Neither cardboard nor wood are truly eco-friendly, but there are jigsaw puzzles made out of recycled cardboard, and soy-based inks.

As far as the price is concerned, wood loses the race. It’s the more expensive material, but also the one where quality can take a much better shape.

Cardboard jigsaw puzzles, besides the attractive price, have some more appealing features. They require less storage space, can be framed and hanged on your wall, and there’s no real limit concerning the image displayed, the size or the number of pieces. For those who really like challenges and constructing puzzles frequently, these are the puzzles to get.

Wooden puzzles are more for traditional jigsaw puzzle lovers, and those who simply like puzzles for their beauty and the effort put into them by the designer, artist or puzzle maker.

This week’s puzzle of the day will certainly be a challenge, even if you really like music. Not only is it incapable of singing to you, but it also requires a certain amount of musical knowledge in order to be deciphered. If you don’t know how to read the notes on a musical staff, you can forget about this jigsaw puzzle. Unless, of course, you’re willing to learn new things and you think this will motivate you to expand your knowledge.

Made by Piatnik, the Music jigsaw puzzle has a finished size of 22″x14″ and is everything but easy. Even if we forget for a second that we’re talking about no less than ten hundred pieces, the image itself is tricky. Black and white, with sequences that resemble one another, it can even fool a music teacher and jigsaw puzzle master.

The key to its difficulty lies in its simplicity and, with it, you’re bound to spend dozens of hours trying to assemble the final product. We’ll assume you don’t know much about music and the musical staff is not among your favorite pastimes. In that case, you’ll have to use your imagination to try and fill in the blanks and add a tune to the weird symbols on the image.

Will it be a famous Austrian composition, or a modern one? That all depends on your knowledge and availability to dream and let your imagination flow. The possibilities are endless, and the sky is the limit. You can think of the music puzzle as a blank disc that can play whatever you want, whenever you want. A magical disc, that you can find at Puzzle Warehouse, the largest jigsaw puzzle store in the world.

For those with lots of space and lots of time to dedicate to puzzle assembling, there are big and huge jigsaw puzzles that will make them happy. For those who don’t have the necessary space or time, however, there are also products that can fit their needs, like the mini jigsaw puzzles.

When we say mini, we don’t only mean mini jigsaw puzzles, but also mini pieces. Let’s take, for example, “A Dog’s Life“, one of the cutest mini jigsaw puzzles available. It is made by Sunsout and its finished size is an amazingly small 7″X 9″. In the meantime, it also has 100 pieces, which might not be much for a jigsaw puzzle champion, but is more than enough for a regular user who wants to enjoy this wonderful activity.

It will not take you ages to assemble, and it won’t require an entire room for itself. But it will definitely give you more than just a taste of what a jigsaw puzzle is made of. 100 pieces are more than reasonable, and for someone who does not have a lot of patience, the number is just perfect. And let’s not forget something important. These are not 100 regular pieces, but 100 small pieces, so the level of difficulty is still pretty high, despite the name and size of these jigsaw puzzles.

Check out the Mini jigsaw puzzles at Puzzle Warehouse and enjoy the full experience of jigsaw puzzles with mini prices. Dozens of models are available.

When you enter Puzzle Warehouse, you find yourself wondering where to start. Not that we’re not organized, on the contrary. But you should never forget that this is the biggest jigsaw puzzle store in the world. Thousands of puzzles are waiting to be discovered and assembled, and if you want to look at everything there is on the list, it can take a lifetime (we are constantly updating our stock and acquiring new items) until you finally reach the last item.

We spoke in our last post about one of the difficulties encountered when choosing a jigsaw puzzle. We only covered the number of pieces, but there are many other aspects left. What theme should you choose? If there were only ten puzzles in the world, the question wouldn’t have much sense. But this is not the case, and you can certainly find jigsaw puzzles depicting the most insane things.

How do you choose, in that case? Whether it’s a gift for yourself or for someone else, you should ask yourself something simple: does the person you’re buying it for have any passions or hobbies? If they do, the choice becomes a lot easier. You look for a jigsaw puzzle theme that has something to do with that interest. Maybe your niece loves horses, or your father is a die-hard Cardinals fan. This theme strategy can never fail.

If they don’t have any particular passions, or if you don’t know anything about what they like, there is still hope. Go for a theme everybody likes: either a reproduction of a work of art or a beautiful landscape. Or, choose something unique that they haven’t seen before, like the Impossibles. Since you have the choice, this is the best way to make even the toughest crowd like your gift.

If you’re a fan of the motorcycle culture, always liked choppers but never actually rode one, or if you secretly wish to embark on the trip of your life through a beautiful country, during the summer, we have just the puzzle for you.

Choppers is a jigsaw puzzle not only suited to hardcore riders. It can give you the joy and the thrill of a dangerous life without the tattoos, the bar fights, the engine problems and many other negative aspects of the “game”.

Featuring 18 motorcycles, 1000 pieces and a finished size of 19.25 x 26.5 inches, this jigsaw puzzle is made by Eurographics with high quality unbreakable puzzle pieces. Once you assemble it, you will know everything about choppers. Well, not really everything, as it will not turn you into a mechanic, but you will at least be able to recognize a type of chopper when you see one.

If you’re not paying attention to them, you might think they all look alike, and that the only thing differentiating them is the color. But that’s not true. There are different types of choppers, and those that are custom made are not the only ones differentiating themselves from the rest.

There is a lot to say about choppers but, as you already know it, a picture says more than one thousand words. And this specific picture, featuring 18 choppers, says probably more than we will be able to say in 1000 posts. So what are you waiting for? Visit Puzzle Warehouse, get the jigsaw puzzle at an amazing price and start assembling it. You’re in for a long ride.

Choosing a jigsaw puzzle can prove to be a difficult task, especially if you intend to use it as a gift. There are some things that you should think about before doing it that can make your job a lot easier. Today, we will discuss the number of pieces, which is probably one of the most important features of today’s puzzle.

If we look at the jigsaw puzzle market, we can identify a certain trend that is also visible in the Western society at large. Breaking records and expanding our own limits has become socially desirable, and this is easy to observe when it comes to jigsaw puzzles. If you take a look at the biggest puzzle companies, you will see that almost every one of them tries to break the world record for the biggest jigsaw puzzle. And if they don’t, they certainly don’t fall too far behind. Puzzles with thousands of pieces have become the rule, and you have to do some research if you’re trying to find a puzzle with less than 100 pieces that’s not for toddlers.

Obviously, a huge puzzle is a huge challenge and can mean lots of fun for the right person. But not everybody likes them. A huge puzzle should only be bought by or for a patient and methodical person. Otherwise, it will go to waste. There are small puzzles that can be just as entertaining, and there’s nothing wrong with them. But if you easily lose your patience or interest, lack the time or concentration, a 5000 pieces jigsaw box might never even be opened, no matter what’s inside.

Nobody expects you to have a genuine Picasso painting in your living room, even though he was an incredibly prolific artist who produced thousands of artworks. Because he is considered as one of the greatest painters in history, his works sell at incredibly high prices, and only a handful of people have the means and privilege to own one of them. What’s more, it seems that people really enjoy stealing his artworks. Not ordinary people, but professional thieves, since hundreds of genuine Picasso works are reported missing and are probably being enjoyed as you read this article by rich and greedy men with great taste in art and unorthodox connections.

At Puzzle Warehouse, you won’t find any genuine Pablo Picasso paintings. But we can offer you something a lot better for a jigsaw puzzle amateur: Picasso jigsaw puzzles. Although our collection is modest, we have a couple of jigsaw puzzles representing some of the most famous paintings of the artist: La Lecture and Guernica.

Made by Recordi Arte, these fine jigsaw puzzles are recommended to patient art lovers. Why patient? Because, in order to be able to contemplate the final result, you will have to assemble no less than 1500 pieces, for “Guernica” and 2000 for “La Lecture”. And while such numbers do not compete with the world’s biggest jigsaw puzzle, they are still a lot and those who encounter difficulties in the process should not be discouraged. The result is definitely worth it: a Picasso reproduction to which you have contributed.
